is mercury used in the process of space ship building and astronomy?

I know that the mercury is used in the process of making powerful telescopes,I want to know that wheather it is used in the process of making space station and space ship by NASA and russian and chinese astronauts?what are its other uses in astronomy?

    To "cheeze_avenger": mercury is also an ELEMENT, which was what the asker was alluding to.

    There are likely electrical and electronic components which use mercury as well as various other metals, just as electronic components do here in everyday life. Sorry I can’t name specifics for you though.
